Mommies and daddies! I encourage you to mark this day, September 7 on your calendar now, It's a happy Grandparent's day.

Grandparents. They’re the quiet yet amused voice that says yes when our parents say no. They never forget a birthday, even if sometimes, they forget how to spell your name. And for some unfathomable reason, the meals they cook are always the best. Win or lose, they always have a warm smile and comforting hug waiting just for us. Their presence keeps us grounded, because they represent our roots. They remind us of home. 

 “Spend time with your elders… While we’re busy growing up, they are growing old.”

My lolo and lolas lived in province but from time to time they visited us and spend some bonding moment with us. Unfortunately we don't have photos together but memories will forever in my heart. My best memories with my lola is when she ate her "NGANGA" we always asked her why her teeth are black and then she will reply with a smile.

As a parent, I’m starting to appreciate what it means to care for our children and our children’s children. This is a day to celebrate what our grandparents  have done right no matter how short. I guess all of us have different stories that will always treasured in our lives. To my lolos and lolas we love you so much, thanks for the love and care you gave to us and most especially for your loves to our parents.

Grandparents have a special place in everyone’s hearts that a day was declared just for them! This September 7, make your grandparents feel loved, the way they’ve done for you all life.
