Maricar Banaag filed Estafa case against online seller

Before 2019 ends, online buyer filed a complaint (Estafa case) against online seller after finding out that the ring she bought was only .71 carat instead of 1.25.



Businesswoman, Maricar Banaag filed Estafa case against "DAISY BORJA", also known as Ninang Daisy on facebook. She is facing charges of estafa; and prohibition against deceptive sales acts or practices and fraudulent practices relative to weights and measures under Article 50 and 64(k), respectively, of Republic Act 7364 or the Consumer Protection Act of the Philippines.


Businesswoman Maricar Banaag filed a complaint against Borja after finding out that the diamond ring she bought from the latter was just 0.71 carat. Borja had claimed it was 1.25 carat. Banaag first complained to Borja, who dismissed her with foul language. "She blocked me on Facebook, ignored my calls and text messages, and cut-off communication with me. I was also completely dumbfounded by Ms. Borja’s use of foul language and underhanded shaming and bullying tactics when she was the one who fraudulently sold to me a diamond ring of inferior quality,” revealed Banaag.
